Short description- in case u r in a hurry:

This restaurant has been around since the 1950s, back old days when ‘gay’ had a different meaning.

They serve both Indian and (retro) continental fare.

The interiors seem to b the same as it was in the beginning – at times it felt that we had walked into a period movie set.

The serving staff were old timers who know the art of chatting with guests and taking good care, while giving the feel that he knows his business well. Guy serving us was really good. He came to just talk to us several times about the food, feedback, how some of it is made etc.

They have an outdoor section which we were not even offered to sit ( not that we insisted) – that place seemed to b reserved unofficially for foreign tourists.

The inside dining hall was beautiful. Every detail was nice. Respect the way they gave maintained it so well.

Menu card was very well presented. Loved reading the write up on the Restaurant. All dishes were explained very well.

Food was good.

Detailed description- in case u hv the time to njoy reading:

Loved munching on the paneer tikka. Soft, YUMM and very nice. RAte it 4.5/5

Lasooni fish tikka (Ghol fish) was good. The fish was flaky and juicy. The edges were a bit burnt but suboptimal. The flavours of the fish made its presence felt. All was good individually but overall the dish failed to b hear due to suboptimal salt. Rate this 3.75/5

Daal sukhi was a marvel. It was dry daal cooked after soaking overnight. Flavours of daal were very enjoyable. The texture was just perfect. One of the best of its kind I have ever had. Rate it 4.95/5

Kheema nalli gosht was an example of good stuff made ordinary- the meat was excellent, super soft, tasty and full of flavours. Rate the meat 4.5/5

The gravy with the kheema was just too ordinary good. Rate the gravy 3/5. Overall rating of this dish averages out to 3.75/5
