Description:
It’s a sea of sandesh & as u drift from one to another u wonder ‘oh, I hope my stomach does not send ‘parking full’ signals’ – The sandesh here is just too good.
Started with nolen gurer Kanchagolla – an excellent soft sweet made from Cottage cheese & date palm jaggery.
Moved on to Kora paaker jolbjhora sondesh – Same ingredients as the previous one but with a harder texture & liquid jaggery in the middle – heavenly.
Makha sandesh was too good – big grainy lump of sandesh – no particular shape.
Another very interesting sweet was sandesh wrapped with ‘sor’ in Bengali or ‘Malai’ in Hindi (dried cream of milk). I wont say that the malai was the best I have had but it was fairly good. Was a bit dry & hence that had an effect on the taste.
To my pleasant surprise, the Chocolate Sandesh was also yumm – It was slightly bitter chocolate & that is what made it super good. My friends said that the butterscotch sandesh was also good – yet to try that.
We tasted quite a few more sandesh & were not disappointed with any. I suggest u give it a shot if not tried already.
