In a nutshell:
Loved eating out at this restaurant on two occasions – great food (only exception being a sad biryani), efficient staff who are always running around – warm personalised interaction on day 1, mostly transactional interactions on day 2, nice seating indoors & mosquito infested, uncomfortable seating outdoors.

Short description- in case u r in a hurry
We got to know of saga while passing by that area. At the same premises, our favourite Italian restaurant used to be located – ristorante 56
.

Ristorante was shut since covid & we were hoping that it would open some day.
Around the same time, on social media, we read about a new restaurant run by a Michelin star chef – Atul kocchar.

So we decided to drop in one evening
The building is located on a narrow service road with parking challenges. Thankfully Saga has a valet service for guests.

The interiors of the restaurant are dimly lit in the evenings. There is ample light on the individual tables though.

The interiors are beautiful & seating is comfortable.

They also have a huge, tall , imposing bar that they told, was the largest in gurgaon.
The outdoor Sofa seats are sad. They are too Low as compared to the table. While seated, the Legs were not at 90 degrees, but way lesser – that’s surely not the right angle of comfortable seating for a 6 foot person. The sofa back rest had Low density of foam & hence they were collapsing, thus ending up providing No support to the back. In short, the outdoor seating was very uncomfortable.

As we sat outdoor, we could smell a Fragrance – later realized that it was from a well hidden agarbatti mosquito repellent that was grossly ineffective when it came to keeping mosquitoes away. We were just hoping that the mosquitoes go away.

Sandeep, our server on day 1 (outdoor seating) was warm & efficient at the same time. The guy on day 2 was totally transactional & was slipping off at the slightest provocation – always eyes & mind somewhere else, as if his train is about to leave & he is waiting to fill his bottle of water from the railway station!!!
The menu card is a treat – lovely layout, detailed description of every dish.

Loved the food on both occasions (sans the sad biryani).
Detailed description – in case u hv the time to njoy reading:
They have a Tasting menu, which needs to be ordered one day in advance. Will like to try that one day.

Day 1
As we waited for our food, we were served Super light papad – neutral taste, sprinkled with a chatpata masala , served with excellent tamarind & beetroot Chutney. Rate the experience 4.5/5

Kaffir lime kombucha was outstanding. It was made from scratch here (not the usual bottled supermarket variety). We loved the tartness balanced with a tinge of sweet – superb balance, excellent flavour. Rate the drink 4.75/5

Berrilicious drink was a good balance of tart & sweet. The taste was robust, the drink being made from fresh berries in-house. Rate it 4.75/5

Sweet lime soda was made with the usual recipe. It was very good. Rate it 4/5

We started with Meaty fries – it was pulled meat steak with fries, cheddar cheese, sour cheese & pico di gallo. Really liked every bit of the dish. Great meat – texture, meaty flavours, juicy. Fries done right. Overall it was fun to munch on. Rate it 4.5/5

Then came Nadru (lotus stem) ki Chaat – deep fried lotus stem in a very good Chaat. We have had better Chaat only in Chandni Chowk & chawri bazar, delhi. The crisp nadru contrasted very well with the rest of the Chaat. Rate it 4.25/5

Murg musallam tacos were outstanding. The tacos were like parathas. The murg musallam was excellent in taste & texture. Rate this 4.75/5

Raan qaliya was the main course. Loved the way the meat was firm, yet easily falling off the bones, yet melt in the mouth. The gravy was smooth & outstanding in terms of both flavours & taste. Rate it 4.75/5

Agra ka petha was the last item that we would have ordered , had Sandeep not suggested it strongly.

The Pethas had been made into small pieces & served with sweetened thickened milk – this combination made magic. The sweetness of the petha with the mild natural saltiness of reduced milk. Rate this 4.5/5
Day 2
We started with Lagan ki boti Sliders – these were simply outstanding. We were Floored wth the meat filling. Great bun. Rate the sliders 4.5/5

Chicken tikka pie came next. It had an Excellent crust & a Very good filling. Chicken tikka was as good as most chicken tikkas could get – we have surely had better. Magic was in the crust & the overall contrast of textures. Rate it 4/5

With quite good experience so far, we ordered gosht dum Biryani, with a lot of hope. The Rice of the biryani turned out to be excellent – long independent grains of aromatic rice, with a complementing flavour of rice & spices. Not really of the meat. The texture was just right. Rate the rice part 4.5/5.

However hell broke loose on the plate when we encountered the Tomatoeee mutton!!!! The meat was from large (I guess muscular, gym going ) goats that had fibrous meats & the softness was as if the meat was softened by pressure cooking (not slow cooking). Huge put off. I would any day drive to lucknow from gurgaon to have better biryani. Rate the meat 0.5/5

Overall rating of biryani averages out to 2.5/5
A drink named The Lonar lake was lovely. It had gin, aperol, kaffir lime leaf in sparkling wine!!! Menu card mentioned that the drink was inspired by a naturally red lake in Maharashtra by the same name. Loved the drink. Rate it 4.5/5

Overall rating for saga averages out to 4.3/5
Look forward to trying the tasting menu some day.
