Short Description – in case u r in a hurry:
What stuck a chord with me was the Cool name – totally differentiated, stands out in the crowd & u r unlikely to forget if u hear it once. This bar is situated in a very cool glass pyramid shaped building that stands out. Once again, very difficult to forget if u see the building once.
Entrance to this Building is beside Mini Cooper showroom where u can see a Mini Cooper hanging from the wall.
As soon as we entered, we were encountered with Loud thumpy music. Result of thumpy music – everyone was talking aloud. Result of talking loud – cacophony, with loud background music.

Inside the building there were 3 levels that one cud sit in. One cud see all other levels from where they sat. The walls had raw brick finish. Framed pics hung from the wall. Cool messages were hung as well.

Loo door has monkey with moustache for men and monkey with lipstick for women. Painted playboy posters were hung all around in the men’s loo. I don’t know what was hung in women’s loo.

There was Sofa seating as well as individual tables and chairs. Sofa with wooden back reminded me of second class berth in trains decades back. The only difference was that the one at Monkey bar had a basic seat cushion below the bum.
There was an area with pool tables and other indoor games.
The menu card was descriptive & Quirky – we ended up laughing aloud at some of the stuff.
Same with table mats – they were n less funny.

The person who has designed this place is a genius I must say. And so is the chef who came up with such an interesting menu.

Very clever menu – hv food from everywhere – Indian, Mughalai Chinese , other Asian , European and more. In Indian section, the chef has acknowledged India in its entirety and hv picked up super stuff from around the country – Goa, Kolkata, Southern india , Parsi and more, in addition to North Indian food (unlike the typical Delhi trend of serving only North Indian food as ‘Indian’)!!!!

Loved the food, the ambience, the experience, the music.

Service sucked till the time white knight emerged to our rescue. Diff people came to take order at diff times. 3 sets of people came to ask for our order. Result – first guy did not place our order to kitchen. Second guy I requested to Chk with chef if there is option to hv less bread in liver pate on bread. The guy disappeared as if he did never exist. 3rd guy took order for drink & served them. Even 40 mins after waiting, the food was yet to come. Our intestines were almost digesting themselves out of hunger during that wait.

And then to our rescue came a white knight (guy in white shirt, I guess the manager). He jumped into the scene & cleaned up the mess remarkably soon.

Rest of the evening was super service. White knight ensured we were treated as kings. Infact he sent the bill with two dishes complimentary. I somehow convinced them to add it back, coz yummraj does not believe in eating free food.

My reading – the guys have a ‘chalta hai’ kind of attitude. No formal system exists to take orders on order and serve accordingly. Systems and processes were weak.

Detailed Description – In case u have the Time to NJOY reading:
We started the evening with Soup – It had one of the best meat balls I hv had in a while. Strong taste, intense flavor, juicy within, hand chopped meat that was uneven and hence was simply great. Rate the meatball 4.95/5.

Soup was plain as it is- not much taste. Not much flavor. However on adding the red paste served with thd soup, it attained a strong character. Strong, hot, spicy, very good. Rate it 3.5/5
Overall rating averages out to 4.22/5

The first dish we had that evening was Brain cutlet – that was again one of he best brain preparation I have had in a while . Rich creamy inside the cutlet with a thin outer layer formed during tawa frying the cutlet.
Excellent . It’s different that u might dislike the very thought of chewing someone’s brain but in case u get over this feeling, it is Superb. Rate it 4.5/5

Post this came Goan pickled pork sausage . This was served in a tiny glass jar looking like a pickle jar. Awesome – sausage, spices, overall . Rustic, robust taste and flavor, this Goan sausage was just too good. We Njoyed this with toasted pao. Loved it and rate it 4.5/5.

Bacon mobar burger was the last dish b4 dessert for us that evening. Once again, the burger was juicy beyond expectation , not due to sauces but due to juices of the meat. We had medium rare patty.

Loved the intense taste and flavours . The burger was served with excellent fries. Bun was good but nothing much to talk about . Super loved this burger & rate it 4.5/5 again.

Drink named Copper Monkey was made from Whisky, Mandarin, Passion Fruit, Mint & bitters. The drink was very potent, had strong taste & lovely flavors & overall very enjoyable. Rate it 4.5/5

Narangi – A drink made from Whisky, Narangi, mint was good and refreshing but not as great as the above. Rate it 3.5/5.

Mangaa was superb. It was vodka with bottled aam panna, sweet lime, jeera & salt. Loved every drop of it & rate it 4.5/5.

Rum rita drink had rum, red wine, wild berry compote & it was served frozen. This was again good but had a bit too much ice, resulting in dilution of taste. Rate it 3.5/5.

Dessert was outstanding. Tinge of slightly sweet , chunks of real pineapple inside a round base, perfectly baked, served warm. Served with Ice cream . Brilliant. Rate it 4.25/5.

Overall rating averages out to 4.22/5. I am sure to revisit multiple times. What about u?
