Short description – in case u r in a hurry:
Came to know about this eatery after browsing Zomato. The menu card listed there sounded interesting & different. Thought that came to mind was ‘Thank god someone thought of going out of the usual stuff & trying to offer something different’.
The eatery currently has a home delivery option only. The rentals of Gurgaon must have kept away the owners from offering a sit & eat option to connoisseurs of food – who like to eat food freshly made & not out of a packet after 30 minutes of it being cooked.

We ordered twice & on both the occasion the lady who took the call seemed to b the owner of the business. We thought ‘If owner takes that much interest & has that much involvement, the chances of getting good food is high’. Attention to detail was evident in the menu planning & food in general.

Yes, we were right. The food was really good. Ingredients seemed to b honest & I noticed no effort to cut corners on the same. That ensured good flavors, aromas & subtle layers of taste. Offering was unusual at times but very good. A lot of things seemed to be freshly made & had the touch of ‘home made’ rather than that of a commercial kitchen.

Caveat – Do not expect gourmet food. This is like ‘plain & simple home food cooked by a great home chef’. Great option for those who stay single (there r monthly packages), people visiting Gurgaon & staying in a place that does not have complimentary breakfast, those who do not mind eating out a few times just to save the cooking time or simple ‘too lazy to cook today’ sundays.
The outer packaging was robust yet smart looking. The inner box was microwavable.

Cutlery served with food was made from some derivative of wood – really nice ones.

Detailed description – in case u have the time to njoy reading:
Started with Grilled Chicken Pesto – Grilled chicken served on a bed of broccoli, babycorn, bell pepper, topped with mozzarella & basil pesto, jalapeno dip.

The chicken steak was a bit dried. Am sure wud have been better if eaten straight out of the oven. The taste was good. Rate the steak 3/5

Pesto is a fairly easy to make thing if the right quality ingredients r used. However most people in Delhi NCR do not get it right & end up with a flat dip as they tend to cut corners. The pesto at Nashta was very good. It had the right flavors & taste as well. Rate the pesto 3.75/5
The trio of broccoli, babycorn, bell pepper was not crunchy the way they shud have been. They had been somewhat overcooked & had started to wither. Or was it due to the heat in the package as the ideal crunchy veggies got transported from restaurant to my house. I don’t know – Am only commenting on the state it was when I ate. Rate the veggies 3.5/5

Not a fan of Mozarella in general but liked the way it was used here.
Overall rating of the dish averages out to 3.42/5
The next item was Mexican Chicken omelette wrap. This looked exactly like a modern version of kathi roll from outside – the way it was paper wrapped. Only on tearing the paper cud one notice that the wrap is not maida (as in all other rolls) but the wrap itself is egg.

The filling had some nice sauces, cheese & chunky chicken chunks in addition to some bell pepper. Loved the chicken chunks – soft & tasty. Disliked the bell pepper – withered, not crunchy & soggy.

Very nice to taste overall. Very good feel due to the egg wrap on the outside.

A very nice & tangy sweet & sour green dip was served with this.

Rate the dish 4/5. Cud have been 4.5/5 had the soggy bell pepper not bugged me.
For drink we had Berry explosion. It was sour (tangy) & sweet at the same time. Good balance. Minced Herbs added to the flavors. Rate it 4/5.

Beetroot berry blast. Made a good job out of the otherwise boring (rather too little options usually available) beetroot. It was not a smooth drink but had traces of beetroot. Liked it a lot & rate it 4/5.

Loved the next item – Baajrey ka parantha with fresh butter & pickle. I have had many a Baajrey ki roti at restaurants, dhabas & at people’s houses in villages of rajasthan. Usually good bajra rotis have a good flavor, mild taste & is eaten with a lot of white butter.

Baajrey ka parantha was a nice change. The dough surely had some atta/maida mixed to it – cud guess from the texture & taste. The aloo filling was marvelous. Overall it came out as a very tasty food. Loved eating it with a dollop of white butter at times with the achaar & at times just as it is.

They also served a very nice thick raita with this. The raita did not have any salt in it but it was uneven, not machine blended and really rustic. It had a strong fermented feel to it as well. It had a nice masala as garnish. Loved it.

Rate this whole package 4.25/5
We also had Linguine style Omelet – ‘Italian style emelette with olives, bell pepper & herbs served with garlic bread, pesto, mayo dip’, read the description on menu card.

This was quite different than most omelettes served in this city. Good attempt. Cud have tasted better had the food been eaten straight out of the frying pan. Taste was very good and all ingredients made their presence felt. The dish was fresh & nice. Rate it 3.5/5 again.

The Citrus cooler – juice with citrus fruits, papaya was really nice – tangy & refreshing. Rate it 4/5

Apple ginger drink was quite curious. Ginger made its presence felt without being overwhelming. Rate it 4/5
The only things that were disappointing were the toasted bread & potato wedges served with the non Indian dishes. The bread was consistently bad & inedible due to the 30 mins gap. Rate this 1/5

The potato wedges were good to taste but withered. Rate both this 2/5

Overall rating of food & beverages at Nashta averages out to 3.75/5.
I wud surely keep ordering more & exploring new stuff – like Congee with Galangal & grilled fish, hoisin chicken wrap, breakfast burrito, “Lebanese hummus roll” with crunchy falafels, juicy cucumber and tomatoes rolled in a pita bread etc. How about u?
