Short description- in case u r in a hurry:
We were at Vadodara and posted about a meal there. In a while I got a message from Daxesh Mistry, our e-friend from Vadodara (who has been following our blog posts) that maji is a place that we shud not miss. We immediately decided to pay a visit.

We were pleasantly surprised to see that the restaurant has been around since 1955. That’s quite a feat for any business.

The restaurant has an open kitchen right at the entrance. People do takeaways, park their cars in front and eat inside the car or some others like us walk in and sit in the restaurant.
The walls of the dining hall was like a large menu card With pics of dishes.

The most interesting bit was a write up about egg eating habits of Indians. Whether egg is vegetarian or vegan or nonvegetarian.

The guys on service were very enthusiastic and efficient. They described the dishes pretty well.

Almost Everything in the menu was egg based. The two other places I remember with a similar concept were eggspectation, Vasant Kunj delhi and the other one in gurgaon.

Each dish is made of 3-7 eggs. So it is difficult for one person to taste multiple dishes. Between two of us we managed to have 2 dishes.

Detailed description- in case u hv the time to njoy reading:
We strictly went by recommendation by Daxesh.
We started with malai tikka omelet. We were observing as the dish was being made. Tomatoes, onions, chilly, spices and a red masala paste was cooked on the tawa and then egg was put on top to scramble.

The result was a super hot n spicy , juicy and YUMM scrambled egg. Buttered tawa toasted buns were served with this. Rate it 4/5

The next dish we had was afghani tikka omelet. This had a egg omelet base , topped with afghani tikka masala and shredded boiled eggs, further topped with awesome omelet chunks.

The omelet chunks were just so good – soft, creamy & YUMM. Rate the dish 4.25/5

Overall rating of food at maji averages out to 4.1/5
Curious to try out other dishes in my next visit
