Short description- in case u r in a hurry
We got to know about Evoo from Facebook food groups of Gurgaon. There were many recommendations. Someone on the group also mentioned that Susanna of Da Susy also has said this is good.
So we decided to drop by on a weekend. We called for reservation in advance & got to know that reservations fill up fast, way in advance. We also got to know that they have two slots for lunch, like the Bombay canteen.

The interiors are very nicely done. The open kitchen can been seen from the area where the guests sit. The pizza dome is also visible form here. The seating is cozy. The total number of seats are limited.

Behind the kitchen counter there was an army of chefs & sous chefs.

Yaopei served us food on day 1. He was fabulous in helping us decide on the menu. When we went back the second time, we searched Yaopei & finally met. It was like meeting a long lost friend.

We were bowled over by the food & went back pretty soon.
Detailed description – in case u hv the time to njoy reading:
day 1 Gurgaon

Day 1
We would not have ever ordered Focaccia, had Yaopei not recommended it to us. The
In-house freshly baked focaccia was served with a truffle mousse, fresh buffalo mozzarella, marinated peppers, plum tomato, basil pesto & and very interesting made in-house balsamic caviar. Yaopei also recommended us a topping of Parma Ham & we agreed. Loved every bit of everything that I mentioned.

I find the average quality of baked products in delhi NCR to be quite low. This one was like an oasis in the desert. While we are not fans of imitation food (a vegetarian dish imagined like a meat/ seafood dish), we were pleasantly surprised with the balsamic caviar. It had the same popping in the mouth effect as caviar.
Rate the dish 4.5/5
Aglio Olio Prawns with basil, onions & a mild tart note was so good that we polished every drop of the sauce with the bread. The sauce had fully incorporated the flavours of prawns. The prawns were cooked just perfect. Rate it 4.75/5

Cacio e Pepe Pizza came next. It had a non tomato base & Yaopei warned us about that in advance. It had Fresh buffalo mozzarella, pecorino cheese, some basil & with a topping of Pulled Pork. While we loved the pulled pork, beyond a point it was ‘besides the point’. Looked quite unimpressive but taste was super impressive. Everything in the pizza was just so good – the base, the cheese, the hint of basil were just brilliant. Rate it 4.75/5

We also tried Spinach & ricotta gnudi with butter & nutmeg in tomato fondue sauce. This has two distinct taste & texture profiles & they complimented each other beautifully. The sauce was quite tart & had a robust taste which contrasted the gnudi. Loved it. Rate it 4.5/5

For desserts we had Tuscan Bombolone – Italian doughnuts made with light brioche dough filled with custard made in-house. Again, a play of textures. Crisp outside & gooey inside. Rate it 4.25/5

Loved my cold brew – better than the one at Starbucks. Rate it 4.5/5

Day 2
Lamb Meatball Skillet
Italian lamb & rosemary meatballs, with smoked mozzarella in house-made marinara sauce.
Meaty juicy slightly lumpy meatballs with robust meat flavours. Robust taste of tomatoes in the sauce balanced it well. Quite tart & a good balance of salt & sour.
Rate it 4.75/5

Arancini Risotto rice ball stuffed with mozzarella & oven dried tomatoes was served with in-house made salsa verde.
Super crisp outer layer was fun to munch on. The strong taste cheese made its presence felt. We loved the medley of flavours, tastes & textures with every bite. The pesto served wth this dish seemed made in-house. Rate it 4.5/5

Lamb Ragout Cappelletti – in-house made cappelletti pasta was filled with creamy ricotta and truffle oil, served with slow braised lamb shoulder ragout.
The cappelletti with truffle oil was just too good. The lamb had robust taste & flavours. Rate it 4.5/5

Parmesan & Truffle Fried Chicken Tenders were served with in-house made salsa verde. Solid chunks of chicken, perfectly cooked. The salsa was pure love with just the right amount of tart.rate this 4.5/5

We had Sicilian Cannoli for dessert. This was pastry shells, one filled with Pistachio Cream and the other with Mascarpone & Ricotta Cream. The outer layer was perfectly crisp, to the level of impossible perfection. The creamy mid part was such nice texture. I would have preferred a simple good vanilla flavour. The pistachio cream was a bit extra we thought, and it distracted from the genius of the outer layer. It was of course very good. Rate it 4.75/5

Overall rating averages out to 4.6/5
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY YUMMRAJ. Please do not forget to reserve before going.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen such high rating for any other place over the last few years .
Top of my to do list.
Thank you.
Yes, I agree. Rate few. On day 1 we were in disbelief. So we did day 2. So am assuming it is as good on any day. Please write your review after eating at evoo, even if you disagree with the post above. Look forward to that.
