The owner & his family stay in the same premises – in rooms besides the Dining Hall. I had a brief chat with him post I praised the taste of the food here. He said he came from Southern part of India in the 1950s, briefly ran a shop in Malviya Nagar Delhi & then moved to Khajuraho & has stayed back ever since.

The facade has not been painted quite long & the interiors are also as basic as it can get – but neat & clean.

The interiors of the restaurant – Madras Coffee House Khajuraho

The traditional food is awesome & I found it better than most Delhi & Gurgaon Restaurants. They also serve fusion food like Cheese Dosa, cheese utthapam etc , which seems to be very popular with the European tourists.

In fact, they also serve non South Indian Food like different kinds of Omelet, scrambled eggs, poached eggs, different kinds of pancakes, porridge, sandwiches, thali, South Indian curries, North Indian curries & even egg Biryani, veg chowmein & egg chowmein!!!!

Chinese Noodles

‘For the chef in u………’    here comes in a new section that has a unique way of presenting delicious food that can easily b made at home

Contributed by : YUMMRAJ’s favourite Chef – ANONYMOUS

When in mood for a hot lazy winter Sunday morning brunch, why not try making some thin rice noodles (or rice vermicelli) with stir fried fresh veggies & some prawns & scrambled eggs thrown in for good measure………….

….well, u can do without the prawns or the eggs or both or u can substitute the prawns with chicken – whatever be it, u r sure 2 get a load of praise.

Since good food has no set chemical formula, I refuse to list out measurements in grams & mililiitres. I ‘d rather leave it 2 ur interpretation, preference & imagination.

To start with, slice veggies like zucchini, white onions / spring onions, babycorns, pokchoy (Chinese leafy veggie), bell peppers (capsicum) – green, yellow or red or all of them, mushrooms (try the dried black mushrooms)……………… more or less the way it is shown in the pic. Just tear the Pokchoy into pieces with hand before cooking it.

click on the pic, enlarge it & take a look - try 2 cut as close to this as possible

Thinly slice fat cloves of garlic & mince a tiny piece of ginger.

Giraffe (London Heathrow Airport)

In a nutshell :

Very cool set breakfast. Alacarte stuff quite mixed – good , bad & also ugly. Staff – mostly great, one of them was a real disaster.

Continental food in London compared to similar food served in India – An Indian foodie’s perspective.

Entrance to Giraffe

Restaurant website: Giraffe

Cuisine type: Vegetarian & Nonvegetarian

Short Description – In case u r in a hurry:

I always like to get a grub here if it’s a morning. My comment after first several visits : “Love the breakfast. Also good things r – a bright & colorful decor, peppy music, fun & cool staff – they actually crack jokes at times, make u feel like u hv come to a cool hangout place.” Experience on my last visit – We came across a disaster of a waiting staff – worst than anyone I have come across anyehere in Europe / USA.

The Giraffes at Heathrow airport

Had a breakfast set menu – Soft & creamy scrambled eggs with some really good bacon, rich & super tasty sausages, baked beans , grilled tomatoes & some really crunchy potato fries.
