Description:
We went in the morning to Chandni Chowk all the way from Gurgaon to eat breakfast & my vegetarian friend who happens to be a Chandni Chowk pro joined us. We reached the shop at 8.30 am to see quite a few people eating on the footpath in front & waiting to get stuff packed.

My friend led us to a small A/C dining hall which I did not know existed, during my earlier visits. He sat down & confidently ordered nagori puris with halwa. The waiter said ‘ sorry sahib ji, its finished’. We said finished at 8.30 am? He said, ‘yes usually it lasts till 8.00 am but today it finished at 7.30. We sold 1000 pieces of those from 5.30 am to 7.30 am.’ We initially looked at each other, stunned & then decided to get back to try this super popular dish. My friend swears by it. I will surely get back to try this.
All food made in this shop are with pure desi ghee.

Taste surely rules here – the A/C room was a revelation to me but not everything else might appeal to u.
The bedami poori was enjoyably crispy but not too crispy. The aloo ki subzi was spicy , somwwhat hot by my standards (surely hot for kids / those with low chilly tolerance). Taste of the aloo was very good. Unlike the aloo ki subzi served with bedami poori at Gulab & Bikanervala, Gurgaon, the ones served at Shiv Misthan didnt have a sour tinge.

The chholey served with the poori was very good to taste too.

A chutney served along with the poori subzi was spicing up the aloo ki subzi further.

The thing that I liked even more than the poori subzi was the chholey Bhature. The Bhature was good but the one at Sitaram Dewanchand is surely better. The bhature is better than what u get in most shops in Gurgaon.

The chholey was outstanding. Except for Sitaram Dewanchand, this was better than most other chholey I have had in a while.

We finished our breakfast with crispy jalebis that had a feature that is not too much common n this part of India. There was a fermentation flavour & hence a mild sourness in taste that perfectly balanced the sweetness of the sugar syrup. Loved the jalebis.

Look forward to revisiting this place to try nagori pooris with halwa & a repeat of what we already tried.

Revisited after a long while to try nagori poori. Must say, worth going extra early for that.

Crisp pooris that just taste so good on their own. Served with halwa & also a mixed aloo & cholay curry.
