Description:
I have been having some cookies / biscuits of Karachi Bakery for quite some time. Have generally liked them – some more some less but never disliked any so far. They also sell a whole range of Bakery items from cakes to pastries , Indian Sweets like halwas, laddoos & many more, chocolates etc in the main shop. Not covering those coz this is review of the airport store.

This time around I was returning from Hyderabad, I had an Air India flight & hence I was flying thru the International terminal. Got a whole lot of time to shop for lots of stuff from here & of course that wa sin addition to permissible hand baggage weight that was allowed.

This time around I bought 4 items – Cashew biscuits, pista biscuits, Khajoor roll & Premium Dates Halwa.
Cashew Biscuits were crisp but a tad moist – as perfect a texture as possible. Big grains of sugar were sprinkled atop. The cashew nuts were crisp perfectly. Loved the texture & of course the balanced taste. I rate it 4/5. Must say that as some biscuits stayed for 2 weeks, the crispiness reduced but was still good – not as good as it was initially.

Pista Biscuits were comparatively much behind. The texture was crispier & the biscuit a bit harder. This was a tad more on the sweeter side than the cashew biscuits. It was average on its own. I rate it 2.5/5.

What made a massive difference to the culinary journey was the Khajoor roll. Made from dates as a base & then filled with perfectly roasted crispy nuts, this item was a winner right from the concept. It had perfect sweetness, great soft but mildly chewy (enjoyable) texture. Grated coconut on the outer surface added another dimension to the food. Super loved it & rate it 4.75/5.
Premium Dates Halwa was made in the halwa fashion. Though quite a few ingredients were common, there was a huge difference in the way this was prepared. This one was cooked in heat & the molten sugar gave a sticky elastic like fell (somewhat like Karachi Halwa). Loved this a lot as well & rate it 4.5/5.

Rating of the limited stuff that I had at Karachi Bakery averages out to 4/5.

I will not miss any opportunity to try out new stuff & repeat the unique khajoor ones. Pls share ur expeience as well.
You should try their cakes and savory items at Madhapur too, they are far superiro than most bakeries throughout the twin cities.
thanks so much for sharing. Will try next time.
It is one of the most Iconic places of Hyderabad. Their biscuits are sold by not only small shopkeepers but even supermarkets like Hypercity and Heritage.
Personally I have liked almost everything I have ever had here. The place never goes wrong. They sell a proper Choco Lava Cake at just Rs. 25 (unimaginable).
Try their Fruit Biscuits. They are my economical favorite.
Thanks for sharing, Rohit
