Short description – in case u r in a hurry:
We came across a description of this place from one of our friends. So ended up on one occasion when we had guests with us.

The restaurant has two sections – a non-air conditioned well-lit normal ceiling height ground floor and a low ceiling dimly lit air conditioned first floor.
There were murals on the wall.
The menu card was a long list of food items but they did not have descriptions on them.

The waiting staff were nice and warm. They kind of slowed down during rush hour but kept trying their best. They had good Knowledge of food being served.

We really enjoyed most of the food.

Detailed description – in case u hv the time to njoy reading:
Solkadi was very good. Somewhat thicker than usual texture, creamy from coconut milk but still retained its punch. Rate it 4.25/5.

Buttermilk was good but it lacked greatness. It had elements of sour and salt. Rate it 3.5/5.

Clam butter garlic pepper was excellent. Each and every piece of clam was tasty to the core. The preparation was so good that it did not interfere with the natural taste and flavour of clams. Rate it 4.5/5

Bombay duck fry was very good too. Unlike in most other places, this was not Rawa fried. It was batter fried. Crispy batter on the outside and super soft n juicy fish inside. Rate it 4.25/5

Squid sukha was the weak link in this dinner. It had less salt. A sprinkling of salt made a difference. The squid was soft and good to taste. The gravy was good too. Rate it 3.5/5

Surmai tawa fry was excellent. Not over spiced but rightly spiced. The fish was juicy, flaky and very tasty. Rate it 4.5/5

Sukha mutton was a dry curry with loads of scraped coconut. The meat was cooked with the other ingredients over a long period – so the flavours of meat, coconut and spices intermingled very well with each other. Rate it 4.5/5.

Pomfret curry boneless was again too good. The gravy was just outstanding. The flavour of spices was mind blowing. Fish quality was very good. We were quite full by this time but finished the gravy till the last drop. Rate it 4.75/5.

Neer dosa was very soft, thin and nice. Rate it 4.25/5

Appam was different than in most places. It was not crisp on the outer side and was thicker than the usual ones. Rate it 4.25/5

Fresh lime soda sweet and salt was good. The balance of taste was good. Rate it 4.25/5.

Overall rating of food at Apoorva averages out to 4.2/5
Look forward to revisiting.
