Short description – in case u r in a hurry:
Heard about indigo years back while staying in delhi. When we shifted to mumbai 6 months back, indigo was on our list. We decided to explore this chain thru breakfast first and then into a lunch or dinner.

There r several branches of indigo in mumbai and also in other cities.

The Colaba restaurant was in an old building and hence had a high ceiling.

They had different sections – a wall with bar accessories that they were selling , a section where they were selling wine bottles and also sangria bottles.

In another section they were selling single origin coffee powder.

There was a dessert corner

Breads section has lot of choices

There was a cheese and cold cut counter as well.

Furniture was simple and nice.

The guys serving food were good when it came to serving food.
When it came to selling merchandize they had no urge. In fact when I took interest in a product that was almost double my food bill, they were having non excited faces, ‘Lena hai to Le lo, nahi to Kat lo’ look. I assume they do not get commission on sales or too little commission to even bother to pitch a sake. Wierd I must say.

Food was excellent.
Detailed description – in case u hv the time to NJOY reading.
Pineapple, pear, chia seeds, mint Pineapple, mint & basil drink had a great balance of sweet and sour. It was a thick pulpy juice with chia seeds adding a unique texture. Loved sipping on this. Rate it 4.5/5
Watermelon, grape, pomegrenade, chia seeds & mint drink was very good. It had ample flavour of all the ingredients – subtle and nice. Rate it 4/5

Apple orange and ginger juice was very enjoyable. It had the punch of ginger and flavours of both apple and orange. Rate it 4.5/5
Eggs benny with butter poached Lobster, confit tomatoes and hollandaise was awesome. The bun was perfectly baked – crisp outside and soft in the middle.

The lobster had excellent flavours and taste, it was fresh and very good. Eggs used were organic ( not the boring poultry kinds) and the sauce was just YUMM. Overall it was a joy to feast on this. Rate it 4.75/5

Eggs benny with slow cooked pork belly, caramel onions and bearnaise sauce was just too good. The porkbelly melted in the mouth like marshmallows.

The flavours and taste of the meat were excellent. The caramelised onions added a tinge of sweetness. Super loved it and rate it 4.5/5

The next dish we had was eggs on the beach – two poached eggs on crispy bacon placed atop crab cakes , with hollandaise sauce.

The crab cake was outstanding. It had full blown flavours of crab and had the sweetish tinge that is natural to crab meat.

The bacon slices were perfectly fried and that ensured that they were juicy and crisp at the same time. Loved the eggs. Rate it 4.75/5

For dessert we had Pecan pie. It was outstanding. The crust was super crisp yet moist. The pecan nuts were crunchy. The pie crust had a tinge of salt to balance the sweetness. Lovely sauce. Rate it 4.5/5

Overall rating of food at indigo deli averages out to 4.5/5

I will surely revisit for a few lunches and dinners to explore the whole menu. What’s ur thoughts?
