Short description- in case u r in a hurry

The restaurant is located in a street corner and one enters from the street corner crossing thru a gate that has old wooden doors.

The ground floor has nice retro chequered flooring. It was 730 am in the morning and the ground floor was packed. We were asked to go to first floor. The waiting staff directed us to the only empty table.

In the morning they had the unique benne dosa , idly, medu vada and filter coffee.

What I noticed while entering was that almost everyone was having the dosa. Did not understand the reason till we had all the items.

We did not get a menu card. Our server narrated the items verbally.

Food arrived pretty fast. We loved the dosa.

Detailed description- in case u hv the time to njoy reading:

Medu vada was good. It had a super crisp outside, soft inside – great textures but no outstanding flavours like the one at sangeetha / Murugan idly of chennai. Even Saravana bhawan vadas are better than this in terms of flavour though this one scores better on texture. Rate it 3.5/5

Idly – one of the worst I have had in southern part of india. Usually the upcoming shops in gurgaon would serve such pathetic quality idlis. These were not soft, brittle, had big pores and no fermented feel to it. I let it go after 2 bites. Rate it 2/5

Benne masala dosa was what everybody was ordering. It was a small sized unique dosa. It had a thick crust (at places) and extraordinarily crisp outer layer. Unique. Benne (butter) flavour was super enjoyable. Rate just the dosa 4.75/5

Filling of the dosa was however quite a disaster. Once again I let it go after a few bites. It was just a casually done aloo subzi with big pieces of aloo that had suboptimal salt. No flavor, nothing to talk about. Rate the aloo 2/5

Overall rating of masala dosa averages out to 3.4/5

Filter coffee was strong and good but the one st Brahmin coffee bar was way better. Flavours and taste was good. Rate this 4/5

Overall rating of food at this restaurant averages out to 3.2/5

I Wud revisit to have just the superstar benne dosa sans the masala and Wud not dare order anything else.
