Short description- in case u r in a hurry

We got to know of this place from our foodie friend Aalok wadhwa. In fact we asked him b4 going about what items he liked here.

It’s always been a huge joy for us to go these small & medium no-nonsense, hardcore chinese/ Japanese eateries in gurgaon meant for the nationals of those countries who stay in india mainly as technology experts. Most of these places do not have any elaborate English menu. The best part is that they do not tweak the original to adjust to indian taste.

This restaurant has 2 chefs who are chinese nationals. Boys on the floor were indian – some of them from the Himalayan states. They boys were warm & good to chat with.

I got The familiar smell of food as soon as we entered the restaurant – the strong smell that hits you when you enter a chinese restaurant in China.

The decor, little things were very chinese.

The tables had flame less burners – provision for making hot pot.

As mentioned earlier, there was No attempt to indianize/ punjabize the food. Thankfully the food was exactly same as I have had in China.

At one point, We were the only Indians in the restaurant floor rest all Chinese & Far East Asian.

The Menu card was in chinese , some English translation . There was a wide variety of food, including totally unusual items in india but normal food for China – pig feet, intestine, kidney, heart etc. pictures below each item on the menu gave an idea of what to expect.

Absolutely bowled over with the food.

Stir fried Green beans – brilliant. Crunchy beans. Taste & flavor of a strong pepper was present, in addition to the red chillies seen in the picture. As we ate it, we could feel the heat of pepper but more of the flavor. When we finished eating the dish, the pepper started making its presence even more intense, in the after taste. Fab. Rate it 4.5/5

Hot chilli Snake head fish recommended by Aalok, was a meal in itself. Super intense. Strong flavours, hot. 0% Indianised. I was floored.

The Fish itself was outstanding. Soft, fleshy, layered. Great to taste & strong flavours.

Loved the different kinds of Mushrooms with different textures. Every bite would be different.

Thin vermicelli like noodles was perfectly cooked.

Miscellaneous greens were crunchy when the dish was served. As we kept eating, the immense heat of the soup kept cooking the greens & made them less crunchy . They however did not become absolutely soft.

Pieces of ginger & garlic that wud appear in a bite, added to a rush of flavor in that bite.

The flavor of the broth was Unbelievable. Unreal. I wud call it Art on the plate. Rate this dish 4.95/5

Loved the sticky rice

Two dishes is too less to give a rating. So skipping it for now. Am super excited to revisit, to try the hot pot & other dishes

Highly recommended to people who keep looking for authentic Chinese. A big no no for chinjabi lovers & also strict vegetarians (the smell of fish, seafood etc. in the air might put you off).
