Short description- in case u r in a hurry

We had got to know about this eatery from an episode of zaika india ka show by vinod dua.

So this time when we were in Gwalior (January 2021), we decided to drop in to have poha here. We went there Onway to our return drive from Gwalior to gurgaon (read story of that trip here – long drive)

The shop is located in a dense market. The time we went there, around 11 am, the traffic was under control. So we managed to park our car in front of the shop.

The shop had a prominent signboard that was visible from a distance

Two gentlemen we seen behind the counter. One of them was constantly taking the order & the other gentleman was serving/ packing.

At this point we realized that they had other items also, in addition to poha. So we said we will eat dhokla there & get poha packed.

It was then that they asked us to get inside the shop – so far we had not imagined that customers can enter. It had looked like an over the counter shop.

We entered the shop from a gap next to the counter. There were two wooden benches placed against the walls. Approx 6-8 people can be accommodated in those benches.

A menu card on the wall had price list & also a picture of vinod dua with the younger Mr. Agrawal

We loved the food.

Detailed description – in case u hv the time to njoy reading:

Dhokla was excellent- super soft, yet dense. Very Good to taste. Rate it 4.25/5

Gujia – the huge gujia had a crisp & flaky outer layer, a bit of salt in the filling to balance the extreme sweetness of the super thick chashni (ras) , a coarse & really good filling. Rate it 4/5

Poha – we got it packed for lunch onway. So we got the poha separate, the masala, slice of lemon, Bhujia & coriander leaves. As we parked the car on the side of the highway somewhere near agra, we realized it was a great decision to get this food packed.

The poha was excellent. The masala was just too good – chatpata. The bhujia was crispy & perfectly seasoned. Overall rate it 4.5/5

Overall rating of food at this shop averages out to 4.25/5

Will sit & eat poha in the shop next time we are in Gwalior.
