Vietnam ease caphe (global foyer mall, golf course road, Gurgaon)

In a nutshell:

A new Vietnamese restaurant by a Vietnamese lady & her family at the hub of Far East Asian Cuisine in Gurgaon, Global Foyer Mall – small menu of food I remember having in Vietnam, dishes were not tweaked to Delhi-ise, strong flavours were not extinguished to adjust to local palate, beautiful interiors, super warm & efficient staff.

Short description- in case u r in a hurry

We got to know of this restaurant from social media. But we knew about the founder couple of this restaurant, who till 2 months back, ran a Vietnamese home pop up in Gurgaon. We met them once at handpickedbypc & had a great time chatting. However we could never make it up their pop ups since the dates did not work out.

The restaurant has a very vibrant interiors. Lots of attention to making the place look & feel lively. There is seating on the ground floor & an open bar. On the first floor there is some more seating & also a private dining room that can be booked in advance.

The menu card is a 3 pager – short, crisp & no fillers. Every item seemed to have a reason to exist.

The staff members are uniquely amazing – a fabulous balance of warmth & efficiency. They also had good knowledge of the food & could strike a good conversation.

We got to chat a bit with the founders as they were speaking to all guests at all tables. It was a fabulous conversation & we had food & beverages based on their recommendation .

Absolutely loved the food.

Detailed description – in case u hv the time to njoy reading:

BÁNH KHOT – CRISPY MINI PANCAKES

We first learnt how to assemble a bite. A rice paper on outer layer, lettuce on top, the mini prawn cupcakes on top, dried garlic flakes, red chilly, herbs – all these were rolled together & dipped in a fish sauce. Wow.

This dish was a game of texture.

So refreshingly Vietnamese. Reminded me of my trip to Vietnam more than a decade back. Rate it 4.95/5

BÚN CHẢ k  HANOI

This was traditional Hanoi pork barbecue of strips of pork & a pork mince patty.

Super happy after eating this. What the pork!!! Wow.

Absolutely loved the In-house made barbecue pork with excellent balance of fat & meat, robust flavours. The meatball was just outstanding. It was not fine minced & hence had texture & was immensely juicy. This was served with rice noodle on a bed of lettuce & a fish sauce base.

When the founders suggested chicken WINGS, we were not very sure. However something in their expression made us agree to try & wow, these turned out to be one of the best chicken wings we have had in delhi NCR in the last decade. The last memorable chicken wings we loved was at Pintxo at Galleria which has shut around COVID.

This one was simply outstanding – a rice flour batter cover that turned crisp, a juicy chicken with skin,l in the middle, sweet salt & sour tamarind based sticky sauce that was magically perfectly balanced. Unbelievable.

CHE – COCONUT

TAPIOCA PUDDING

Intense coconut milk flavored naturally creamy tapioca pearls & grated coconut. It was low on sweet & simply delicious

Rate it 4.5/5

ĐÀ LẠT PANDAN

This was Creamy coffee from region of Da Lat, served with a hint of pandan.

Outstanding, unexpected. The surprise element hits the roof with the ‘twist to the tale’ creamy mouthfeel, the sour aftertaste & coffee – we don’t expect this combination at the same time.

Rate it 4.95/5

VIETNAMESE

ICED TEA.

This was Brewed Jasmine tea with refreshing lime.

Excellent balance of sweet & sour . Very refreshing tart lime flavour celebrated jasmine flavour more an after flavour, over shadowed by lime flavour

Rate it 4.25/5

Overall rating of food & beverages averages out to  4.73/5
