Short description – In case u r in a hurry:

Right from the time u enter the place to the time ur taste buds experience ecstasy, u feel that ‘someone’ has put some real brains into this place & a lot of effort post that. Really impressive – This place has a long way to go (provided they market themselves a bit better than they currently do (Currently 90% people in Gurgaon do not know about the building in which they r situated & I wud say 99% people do not know about their existence.).

Music was peppy, not to loud, not to mellow. Very Enjoyable. We cud have a good chat with friends for the two hours that we were here.

The place had a very smiling & interactive staff & they exuded lot of warmth. They added value to the evening.

We enjoyed some excellent Cheddar cheese & beer soup, Mindblowing Juicy Lucy burger – bigger than the biggest burger I was ever served, Ok Ok minced lamb pani puri & a super good prawn dish Gambas al Ajillo.

Short Description – in case u r in a hurry:

If u reach this place before 9pm, u almost get treated like u have been to a restaurant. Post that, depending on the day of the week, occasions, live shows etc, the place converts from a restaurant to a disc ……………. U can see the transformation if u hang around for 2 -3 hours.

Music is loud but peppy, enjoyable & nice usually.

The menu is the same as any other Hard Rock Cafe in any other country. There r ‘India special’ dishes too. The serving staff is good & the Manager comes at least once to check if everything is fine. The food is mainly American stuff with some tid bits thrown in from around the world. The food tastes much above average – I call it ‘good’ to ‘very good’, nothing I ever ate here was below expectations – but not many of these dishes fall into the category of ‘outstanding’.

Cocktails r really good – Every time we have been there, the cocktail suggested by the serving person was usually the best – as compared to others that we ordered.

Applebee’s – The neighbourhood Grill (South Shore Bay, Boston)

In a nutshell –

Loved the American food served in this place with a few ifs & buts

Tasting American Food in America & comparing with similar food served inIndia – A Indian foodies’s perspective.

Short description – In case u r in a hurry:

This place looked like a true American Neighborhood Food joint & interestingly most of the tables looked to b occupied by people around or those who had come in to buy at the mammoth Supermarkets in the vicinity.

So, being American, the portions of food were large & so were the drinks. Started with a large Mojito – was good, potent but a bit too sweet.

We ordered Appetizer Sampler – Loved the peppy mozzarella Cheese sticks, Were over impressed with the creamy spinach & artichoke dip that came with nachos, Cheese Quesadilla with bacon was good but nothing extraordinary, very unexpectedly hot & spicy, mildly sour marinated, buffalo wings with a crispy outer layer sautéed in an orange sauce – liked it.

For main course we had some outstanding ‘Signature Sirloin with Garlic Herb Shrimp ‘ & some not so outstanding ‘Grilled Shrimp & Island Rice’
