Short description – in case u r in a hurry :
The restaurant started off in a certain way, became something else and now it is quite different than its earlier avatars. From a veggie restaurant to the one specializing in coastal seafood, must have been quite a journey.
The road in front of the restaurant has been renamed by BMC after the founder of this restaurant . That speaks quite a lot about the heritage of the restaurant.

The restaurant has a high ceiling in one part, a bar in the center and seating all along the walls. It has a premium look with loads of marble and polished wood.

Service is pretty good and the boys take care.
Food was very good in general.

Detailed description – in case u hv the time to njoy reading:
Kerala prawns was excellent. The way this dish was prepared, one cud easily enjoy the flavours of both prawn and masalas instead of compromising on any. The prawns were super fresh and Yumm to taste. The stir fry was done with coarsely ground good quality flavourful black pepper. Rate it 4.5/5.

Clam ajadina was a very enjoyable dish as well. The dry, scraped coconut based gravy was not on the face but was pretty good to taste. The clams were nice and good. Flavour of spices made their presence felt. Rate it 4.25/5.

With a lot of hope we ordered Crab tikota. Like in most places, large crabs have special price of the day. Our crab was 750 grams. In hindsight we shud have ordered a simple dish with this super fresh and good quality crab so that we cud have enjoyed the crab meat better. Rate the crabmeat 4.75/5

The dry gravy was good but not beyond that. It was sweetish, did not have a good balance of sweet, salt & chilly. Nothing stood out here. Rate the gravy 3/5.

Neer tella was soft and nice. It did not have too much of a fermented feel to it. Rate it 4/5.

Masala Butter milk was excellent to taste. It had spices and Dhania leaves in it. Rate it 4.5/5

Solkadi was very good. The punch in the solkadi was really enjoyable. Rate it 4.25/5.

Overall rating of food at Ankur averages out to 3.9/5.
Look forward to revisting………
