Short description – in case u r in a hurry:
We heard about this restaurant from a cousin. So set out one day to search for it. The place where google maps took us had no restaurant by that name. In fact there was no restaurant. Finally we found it by asking around.
The description of the location is super easy. It is located next to one of the gates of Girish Park metro station.
The restaurant has a huge bright signboard but it gets covered by the metro station – high chances of missing it while driving past.

The restaurant is located in an old building. There are two entrances to the restaurant – a larger airy room with more natural light and another low ceiling darker room.
Unfortunately the owners have not paid attention to maintaining the place. So painting has not happened. There were jute bags lying around. I even saw mickey’s distance cousin quickly run past.

They have however not removed their attention from the taste and quality of Food they offer.
Service was very good. The guy took a lot of care and was suggesting dishes for us.

Food was good in general.
Detailed description – in case u hv the time to njoy reading.
Fish fry was super crisp, good layer of good quality fish, masala coating not overpowering, flaky juicy fish. Excellent overall. Rate it 4.5/5.

Mutton cutlet had crisp outer layer, looked like uneven hand minced good to taste nicely spiced.

Though it was very good we have surely had better. Rate it 4/5.

Egg devilled was huge uneven crumb fried made from big sized eggs, the filling was very average lacked salt eggs did not add value. I guess they put too much aloo filling to increase the size of the chop and hence taste got compromised. Rate it 2.5/5.

Liver curry had soft yum liver pieces . Sweetness of onions, spicy but not on the face somewhat hot. Very tasty. Rate it 4/5.

Kosha mangsho was very soft pieces of goat meat. Rustic masaledar but not on the face. Rate it 4/5.

Cha had strong flavours of tea but not over sweetened. Rate it 4.25/5.

It seems they sell out everything that they make. They hv separate Thursday menu. Which does not offer any mutton item. Since mutton is not sold in the market on Thursday.
Overall rating of food at Niranjan Agar averages out to 3.9/5.
We have visited this place after reading the review from Yummraj. Although the eating place was not good (which is a common scenario in north Kolkata), the food is excellent. We tried fish fry, Mutton Chop, Mutton Korma and Liver Curry. All the items were very tasty and delicious particularly the liver curry and Mutton Korma. For 3 persons the total bill was less than 600. Surely visit again this place. Thank you YUMMRAJ for the excellent review and for letting know of this place.
