Short Description – in case u r in a hurry:
We read about Sassy Spoon on the social media.

The campus of the restaurant is very nice. Near the entrance is a nice cycle that draws attention.

Then after crossing an open porch we reached the dining hall.
The dining hall had a very cool wall – made with luggage boxes. The ceilings of the restaurant were high & we just loved it.
wall with luggage boxes
The people were very warm.

Super loved the food on both these occasions & later as well.

Detailed description – in case u hv the time to njoy reading:
Day 1:
Otak otak (wiki) made with rawas fish and prawn paste. Fish balls cooked in banana leaf. Malaysian style.

Outstanding fish, full of flavours, juicy fish ball, very very YUMM to taste. Rate it 4.95/5

We next tried Beef mirin – grilled beef on a bed of thin glass noodles.

For the uninitiated , mirin is a Japanese rice wine. The sauce was a combination of mirin and soy.
The meat was chewy but soft and juicy. Loved munching on it. Rate it 4/5.

Melon drink was really good. It had the taste of melon but addition of citrus juice have it tanginess.

The flavours of melon were full and intact. Loved it and rAte it 4.25/5

Berry drink had real berries in it and had fantastic balance of taste – sweet, sour and salt ( Rock salt). It had pomegranate on top. Loved the drink and rAte it 4.5/5

Prawn with emmenthal cheese was heavenly. Excellent fresh prawns, cooked with emmenthal cheese ….. Awesome flavor of both cheese and prawns.

Outstanding to taste. The prawn was perfectly cooked. Super loved it and rate it 4.95/5

We tried dessert from the mango menu – Fresh mango and Malibu tiramisu was very interesting.

The Malibu ( coconut rum) flavor expressed itself well in the lowest layer. The body of the tiramisu was thick and nice but not the best I have ever had. Fresh mangoes were very good quality and tasted YUMM. Overall taste was very good. Rate it 4/5

We noticed on our way out that there is a mango menu. Will revisit soon to try that out…..

Day 2:
We went for Mango menu

Mango gazpacho with guava chilly sorbet – the gazpacho felt exactly like the real gazpacho in terms of taste. it was slightly thicker in texture. Excellent . Rate it 4.5/5

Mango pickled grilled prawns with cucumber and onion slaw. Mango pickle was obviously made from raw mango and the quantity used in the grill was minimal.

That ensured that the prawn flavours and taste were full blown while allowing the pickle flavor to appear….. The prawns were just outstanding. They were one of the best I have had in a while. The juices in the prawn head were heavenly. The prawn meat was super soft and unbelievably YUMM. Rate the dish 4.95/5

Almond crusted rawas with sautéed Swiss chard and tempered mango sauce.the rawas was very juicy and flaky and retained its full flavours.

The mango sauce was as tangy as it cud get and the leaves (Swiss chard) was very nice to munch on. Loved the flavours of almond, coconut and curry leaves. Rate it 4.5/5

Caramel peanut tart – served hot with a crunchy white peanut brittle and a caramel ice cream. They said it wud take 20 minutes and they wud make it fresh.

The wait was worth every second. One of the finest desserts I have had in months. The ice cream was caramel based and hence bitter sweet, intense and excellent. The tart was soft and molten inside with nuts and the taste was a combo of sweet, salt and bitter. Mindblowing good. Loved it as it is, with the ice cream, with the peanut brittle and caramel ring…rate it 4.95/5

Overall rating of sassy spoon averages out to 4.6/5
Hv revisited several times after these 2 visits. Loved it each time.
