Short description- in case u r in a hurry:
We had heard about this restaurant ever since we landed in mumbai. Took us some time to visit and a lot more time to publish this review. It was completed in a week’s time after we ate here but by mistake stayed back in draft!!!

We travelled almost 30 km on a rainy mumbai evening to dine out here. The restaurant had several small rooms which were converted to dining room.
The decor was fun and colourful.
A bar in the middle was nicely done.

The lighting was low and hence picture quality is not good.
Menu card was also very colourful and nice.

Service – can’t not tell u about the Funny waiter. After we finished our 4th appetiser, he took away the menu and gave us napkins without asking if we wanted main course.
This was after he had Forgot to place Order for 4 th.
He again Disappeared totally after serving main course. We kept looking here and there for someone to ask what we wAnt for dessert but for 10+ minutes no one turned up.

Then we waited for another 15 minutes and realized probably someone forgot to place order. So we raised this problem to a lady supervisor who vanished as well and we had to call her for a second time.
I think PC Sorcar junior the magician wud love to employ these guys who have mastered the art of VANISH!!!!

Worst – the guy came bk and admitted his mistake ( he forgot) and not knowing this the lady came bk and told us that the plate had fallen and broken in the kitchen. so they had to make again from scratch.
I tried to make it sound funny but at that time it was quite irritating.

Food was good in general.
Detailed description- in case u hv the time to njoy reading:
Open bao pork belly was super soft bao with a soft and juicy, nice pork belly. generally pork belly is soft and fibrous with little bit of fat at the bottom. The pork belly served at fatty bao was Very good but I hv surely had better at erstwhile ai , smokehouse room and guppy by ai. Rate it 4.25/5

We next had Salmon avocado sushi . It was No comparison to the ones we had at wasabi (10 times costlier) but very good in its own. The nori was a bit thicker and tougher to bite in. The rice part did not taste much on its own ( like at wasabi). Overall very good. Liked it as it is, with soy, with wasabi, with gari and combination of these. Rate it 4/5

Next came Oyster – we super loved it. Both flavours of oyster and garnish made their presence distinctly felt, without trying To overpower each other. Excellent. Awesome taste. Rate it 4.75/5.

Pork belly was Nice and crisp on the outside, great to taste. Very good flavours. However we have surely had better. Rate it 3.75/5.

For main course we had Seafood curry. Fish and prawn were good as it is but ended up as ‘besides the point’. The thin gravy was the hero. Added crisp onions and peanuts made it great. Flavours were overflowing…. rate 4.5/5 for the gravy and 3/5 for the fish and prawns. Average 3.75/5

We had this with jasmine rice.

For dessert we had warm fig & candied ginger pudding – this was very good. Both ingredients made their presence felt. Rate it 4/5
Overall rating of food at fatty bao averages out to 4.1/5
Wud unlikely revisit, unless I am already in the neighbourhood for something else.
