Description:

We have been to this place just after it had opened, earlier in this decade. Link to the earlier post is at the top (as I read it again, I found it quite different).

Am not writing much about the place as it has been covered in detail in the earlier post. I suggest you read it.

We are not regular drinkers of spirits or any alcohol. However we love cocktails. For us, It’s more for the taste & the flavors & never ever to get a high. Also we wud try cocktail at a place where we perceive it to be really good, so that it’s worth the calorie intake. We have had some amazing cocktails across the world & get we are absolutely in love with the cocktails at cocktails & dreams speakeasy.

cocktails from the new menu:

Timbur tickle – aromatic version of a whiskey sour – read the menu card. It had Bourbon, a super flavorful dried Himalayan pepper named timbur, kaffir lime etc. we had seen a picture of this light pink coloured drink on one of their insta posts & ordered it. This was the best drink of the evening for us.

Like I said, super high on aroma, nose detects the kaffir lime, sip detects the timbur. Wow. What an after flavor. What a perfect balance of taste inspite of a high tanginess quotient. Unputdownable.

Stunning new flavor of the spice, magic of kaffir lime – blown away. Rate it 4.95/5

Gold fashioned – this had blended scotch, cumin orange liqueur, cinnamon, aromatic bitters & orange peel something. Came with a huge single chunk of ice. I wud say this is a brilliant cocktail for the regular spirit lovers, who wud love to see a variation to their usual. Here the flavors of the spirits ruled & the rest timidly made their presence felt. Not our type but still stunning. Rate it 4.75/5

Lime Lime gimlet – A variation of classic gimlet gin with the seldom used , yet widely available mousambi. The dried  mousambi peel dust on the rim of the glass was a pleasant surprise. The drink was magical. Tart yet slightly sweet, fresh fruit flavor. Wow. Rate it 4.75/5

Islander – this was a Reverse Manhattan – it had Scotch & speakeasy inhouse vermouth. For the uninitiated, vermouth is a wine flavored with natural ingredients like fruits.

We had this after the strong flavored lime lime gimket. So it took us a few sips to understand what was happening. This ended up being the last of our likings among the five, yet it was good. I assume it wud be more appreciated by the regular spirit drinkers. Rate it 3.5/5.

Extra Mai tai – it had full bodied pineapple flavors & feel but it nowhere similar to pina colada. Absolutely Loved the Tart feel of the drink . It had Rum, bourbon, cardamom, lemon & a very interesting extract made from real fruit pineapple with skin & vinegar. Blown over again. Rate it 4.95/5

The rating of new cocktails average out to 4.6/5

Food:

Majnu Ka Tila mutton momos – super juicy momos that we absolutely loved. This Majnu ka tila mutton momo was way better than the momos I have had at majnu ka tila last year!!! The momos here were juicy almost like a small golgappa!!! I did not know & spilled some juice when I tried to bite the momo to half. Lovely meaty flavor. There was onion, coriander, ginger, garlic paste in the momo.loved the Lumpy minced meat in the middle. Superb. Rate it 4.5/5

alongside the momo we were served some lovely add ons – Tibetan chilly paste,.

Mutton taas was a Stunning home like food of the Newari community of Nepal – Super crisp puffed rice, amazing (not overdone) seasoning, ginger juliennes pickled, a hint of hot chillies.

This had to be paired with dry mutton cubes that were juicy & full of flavor. The meat had a bite. Essentially these were Small pieces of mutton marinated overnight & shallow fried in a specially made thick iron griddle until tender.

The radish pickle was full bodied – a bit hot & enjoyably sour

Rate it 4.5/5

We also had Steamed pork momos. I usually have momos as it is. However the dips here were so good that I absolutely loved dunking (not just dipping) the momos & having. Rate it 4.5/5.

Rating of food averages out to 4.5/5

Overall rating averages out to 4.55/5

Very highly recommended by YUMMRAJ not only for cocktails but also the food.
