It’s a small cozy restaurant in Supermart besides the super popular Needs Supermarket. The ambience is nice. The ceilings have metal beams thus giving a retro look. There is a tiny bar area that looks smart. There are sofas in lounge style on one side & normal restaurant seating on the other. Due to lack of space, the seats are a bit near to each other but not disturbingly near.
inside the restaurant
They were playing a peppy piped music that was enjoyable but non intrusive. We cud talk.
The members of Staff were very warm, polite, helpful & knowledgeable. In fact, the waiting staff noticed that we did not finish one of the meals. So he asked us ‘did u not like it’ we said ‘yes’. Immediately after that the Chef walked up to us to discuss what was wrong.
We tried a fondue that had great accompaniments but the cheese dip was too runny. An outstanding Bratwurst sausage & an interesting Italian Prawn preparation that was tasted good but had major issues in texture. The mead ‘drink’ that we had was very ordinary.
They make some good stone oven thin crust Pizzas as well, both vegetarian & Nonvegetarian.

Very interesting ambience & food – can turn a bit adventurous as well. Check it out if u wanna venture outside the usual Chinjabi (Chinese food Punjabified) stuff that u get in Gurgaon.

Short description – In case u r in a hurry:
From outside it looks like a good Goa shack with outdoor sitting.
Outdoor sitting, Tibetan Kitchen
As u walk in, u enter a very colorful room with Tibetan pictures & drawings on all walls, fans on the ceiling (did not see airconditioners), British style ceiling with wooden beams.

The menu cards are ‘black & white’ print-outs on normal paper & then laminated. The waiting staff wears a jacket in which the restaurant name is written. They talk to u from ‘one person’ to ‘another person’ level & not ‘trained waiter’ to ‘customer’ level. I admired the innocence of the guy when we asked ‘R the prawns fresh?’ he said ‘of course, I went myself to the market to buy it today’. They are very polite & smiling but I guess under tremendous pressure to deliver.
Tibetan lamp shade in the balcony outside the eating hall
The adventure bit – The restaurant is located right next to a ‘Wine Shop’. People come in groups, buy booze, have it in open air, bring along with them to the restaurant & drink straight from the bottle. The side effect may be that the guys in the table besides u start laughing 5 times louder at almost non laughable comments post they get drunk etc. So in a way the place might look like a cheap bistro that u get to see in Clint Eastwood movies. The only difference is that some families do come also.
the superb pork
The food is very good but not extraordinary. It is better than the food at Blue Poppy Kolkata.

Short Description – In case u r in a hurry:
Though they serve Punjabi, Chinjabi, miscellaneous cuisines, they excel & specialize in Mangalorean Seafood – Rarely served by many others. One of the best in Town or rather the best. Chettinad & Malabari food is also very good here.
Lady fish & Bombil fry are dishes that we order even before the menu card arrives – They are that good & u never get bored of eatin the same stuff. Then there is a long list of fishes, prawns, crabs, squids & multiple cooking options in them. U r spoilt for choice & the food is unique & cool.
U have to mention in case u want ur dish to be less spicy / hot coz some of the curries might bother u otherwise. The staff is very helpful & overall the restaurant is quite a no frills place. …….. Not too costly as well …….. good place to go for a non veg dinner on budget days & also otherwise.
