Short description – in case u r in a hurry:
Got to know about this place thru Zomato when we searched for good seafood restaurants in MAhim.
What makes this restaurant visually memorable is the idol of a large fish eating bird at the entrance.
Outside the restaurant
The restaurant is small – has 5 tables of the ground floor & some more upstairs. The interiors r nice and cozy. There were framed photographs on the wall. Furniture was basic wooden.
The owner takes full interest in the affairs of the restaurant & that shows up in the quality of food & service.
The menu card was a long list of items in 4 pages. No description of dishes.
Service was efficient & good.
Loved the food.
Detailed Description – In case u have the Time to NJOY reading:
We started our evening with ‘today’s special’ Fish roe. A large chunk of fish roe was grilled and served. It takes immense calibre to maintain that perfect texture of fish roe – it was soft but not raw, it was cooked but just right cooked, not dry.

So the roe was juicy, soft and YUMM. Flavours of spices got added but they did not cover up the natural flavour of fish roe. Excellent I wud say. Rate this dish 4.5/5

We then moved on to Baby rawas grilled – whole small rawas fish. The marinated fish managed to retain its fish flavours very well and the flavours of masalas also got added.

The outer side was crisp and inside was flaky, somewhat soft and juicy. The fish was fresh and good.

Rate it 4.5/5 again.
We moved on to Squid stuffed. This was one of the best squid textures I have had in a while. In most places squid tends to be rubbery and hard. Here, the texture was perfect and you could cut the squid with the table knife provided. The stuffing in the squid was not overpowering and we enjoyed it thoroughly.

Rate it 4.5/5
Next we ordered Mix Seafood Pulao. This was the only dish which did not match our expectation which was quite high by this time. It had all the right ingredients like fresh mixed seafood, aromatic spices but it failed to tickle our taste-buds.

It was good but not great. Rate it 3/5
We ordered Solkadi to go with the . It was different than the solkadi we have had in past few days at different eateries in Mumbai. It was thin and delicately spiced. Quite enjoyable with the spicy food. It was less intense than the others but tasted good on its own.

Rate it 4/5.
For dessert we ordered Bebinca. It was moist and flavourful with taste of coconut making its presence felt. This is one of the best bebinca we have eaten in a while.

Rate this 4.5/5
Overall rating of fresh catch averages out to 4.1/5
Will surely revisit to explore more. Pls share ur experience below.
Sir in Delhi NCR you were having fish in dry land. Now you moved into the place with a heap of fish & seafood. Sabko 4.5 star kaise doge. Koi naya rating system ijaad karna pardega
Good thought:)
