Cuisine Type: Vegetarian & Nonvegetarian

Description:

The store did not seem to be doing too much business but I was told that they have a good sale coming from cutomers in Gurgaon & South Delhi – They get orders ranging from cakes to breads to breakfast to lunch – delivered at home. Expats seem to like this place a lot.

They have a host of breakdast options (not a very long list though) which can be delivered to ur home or can b served to u with a day’s notice. French hearts were on display & so were a decent variety of breads.

Chocolate eclairs – Bought it at 12.00 noon, left it in the rear seat of the car & ate it at 2.30 pm. Result – the best ever chocolate eclair I have had so far with the molten chocolate filling oozing out with every bite. A subtle light brown filling within & a dark chocolate layer on the top.

outstanding Galawati Kabab

Short Description – In case u r in a hurry:

If u r a health freak, either do not go there or go there & forget that u not supposed to eat such things – just switch off & enjoy. Calories will come & go if u exercise regularly – so why make ur taste buds abstain from such pleasures.

Parking options r little – b prepared.

U can eat standing in the winter afternoon sun or in the summer evening breeze. If u r lucky, u get to set in one of the two six seater tables in a room so tiny that u can barely park ur motorbike there. Ther are a lot of flies around – so ur left hand will constantly fan over the food while u use the right hand for eating. The other good option is to walk with the plats to ur car & eat inside in the comfort of airconditioning.

The waiters r obviously not trained. So they will behave like normal human beings – If u r nice & smiling to them, they will be very nice to u, else if u r grumpy & treat them not so well, he might also behave strangely.

The kitchen is kind of open & u can take a peek at what is happening inside.

Coming to the food, this is their forte. Rest are not – as u must have figured out by now.

Short Description – In case u r in a hurry:

Chinese food always rings a few unusual bells in my head – unusual to most Indians except for those who have travelled to China, lived there or stayed there for some time. I freak out on food every time I am in China & in Hongkong. However the food that is served in most places in India as ‘Chinese’ are versions that the Chinese nationals wud be shocked to know about. So I will refer to the authentic version as ‘authentic’ & the Punjabified version as ‘Chinjabi’.

What is good about this restaurant is that they have two separate menucards for Chinjabi& authentic Chinese.

All other occassions we had been to thisplace, we just retained the authentic menu. Do not remember any major dissappointment regarding food here, in the past – rather have a very fond memory of dine outs here.

This time around we had guests who were not hardcore foodies like us & hence we thought of trying out some popular Chinjabi as well along with the authentic.

The decor in this place is wow – u can surely go for a romantic dinner. U can go with small groups of friends as well.

the dining hall

The staff is pretty smart & answer most of ur questions well. They however do not fill up empty water glasses if u have opted for filter water in place of Bottled water.

We loved the fish in black bean sauce, ate the ‘not bad’ crispy fried chicken, loved the mei foon (rice noodles), hated the fried rice, did not dislike the chicken hot pot, freaked out on fish in black pepper sauce & quite disliked the darsaan.

Chocolate French Toast with balsamic strawberry topping

chocolate french toast with balsamic Strawberry topping

Super easy to make & Super good to eat…………… It all started when I discovered a bottle of balsamic vinegar in one corner of my refrigerator – about which I had a year-long memory loss. Then began the searches on the web & I stumbled upon a comment that balsamic vinegar goes well with strawberries. Since strawberries were not in season, I preferred to wait for another two months. A usual weekly visit to the vegetable-wallah got me face to face with fresh red juicy seasonal strawberries. Within seconds, they were in my bag & thus began the story……..

Google time again & here I was was a cool idea for a chocolate French toast. Well, post that tiny story of mine, lets get to the cookology.
